"The opioid crisis (it is more than heroin) requires New Hampshire to not only increase funding but to identify the best practices for addiction disorder treatment which should include medication assisted treatment (MAT), counseling and therapy, social service support for family reintegration and employment help at a minimum There may need to be changes in payment philosophy to include payment risk contracting as well as requirements to collect and report on performance to allow the state to identify what is working or not working."

Was New Hampshire right to continue expanded Medicaid eligibility, using the traditional Medicaid system of managed care instead of private insurance?

"I support expanded Medicaid eligibility. The coverage methodology (Medicaid managed care or private insurance companies both have deficiencies that need to be reviewed and evaluated. I believe that ultimately cost containment in health care will only occur when fee for service payment methodology is replaced with global payments. This will require changes in the managed care programs which are currently focused on managing cost, not care."

"Gun safety is an important issue for New Hampshire and the country. The answers allowed are inadequate. I am for accountability of gun ownership and promoting gun safety. I support restricting gun ownership to people with mental illness, history of domestic violence, background checks on all gun sales or ownership changes, limitations of ownership of guns that really weapons designed for war, limitation of the size of ammunition magazines, increased mental health screening related to gun ownership and reporting any gun theft."
