"I am against it at this time, but we need to increase aid to public schools and and provide property tax relief. The best way to fund that would be to restore the revenue streams that the Free Staters eliminated or reduced, and also redirect the Education Freedom Account voucher money back to the public schools. If the federal department of education is completely shut down by the president, thus ending federal aid, we might need to consider a broad-based tax."

The difference is the $363 million State Education tax on every property tax bill. The real split is 72% property tax payers, 20% state taxes, 6% federal, 2% other local revenue."
