Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"EFAs take money from public schools which are already woefully underfunded. Students who are supposedly "home schooled" with EFA funds lack any accountability - they do not take the tests public school students take. 10% of the money for EFA's goes to an out-of-state company which disburses the money with little if any accountability. Recent data shows that 4 out of 5 families taking EFAs have incomes over $112,000. I believe this is grossly financially negligent."Against| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire’s anti-discrimination law allow segregation based on biological sex in some settings, such as bathrooms and locker rooms?
"I do not support segregation based on biological sex. I believe the government has no right to legislate any law that discriminates against any person's individual right to choose their gender, sexual preferences, religion, or any other personal characteristic. These are individual choices and not the role of government."Against| Read My Position

Should NH add an income tax on earned income?
"The State of NH needs to find sources of revenue other than local property taxes. I believe we need to explore different ways to make the tax code more fair for working people."Against| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire do more to encourage the development of nuclear power, including small modular reactors (SMR), in the state?
"I support nuclear power with reservations. I have a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering and I believe there is a role for nuclear energy in creating a sustainable future for our civilization. However, I also believe this is an area in which political choices must reflect scientific and engineering facts. We must confront the problem transporting and disposing of nuclear waste. We already have a scientifically sound solution that is far, far safer than leaving waste stored in myriad sites at widely dispersed facilities with highly variable environmental and security concerns. We need to clear the political roadblocks to fix this problem."For| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire restore funding for the Office of the Child Advocate?
"I support the office of the child advocate. Taking advantage of children is immoral and it is important that goverment protect them from abusive programs and practices."For| Read My Position

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?
"The State needs to provide a means for adequately funding public schools that does NOT create the huge inequity in funding between urban and rural school districts. I would support the reinstitution of the shared property tax system that was in effect prior to 2011, and finding other means of support for public schools that does not depend on local property tax."For| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire require new voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport, when registering to vote?
"I believe having a drivers license or other state approved form of ID is sufficient to prove citizenship and that state and local election officials have demonstrated they are vigilant enough to prevent voter fraud. I do not support adding additional proof of citizenship documents to voter registration requirements."Against| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire allow at least 10% of students in each school district to enroll in a different public school, regardless of where they live?
"I am strongly against open enrollment in the state of New Hampshire. In NH, the vast majority of school funding comes from local property taxes. Open enrollment means students can take the education funding from one town and give it to another! This is grossly unfair to local schools which have no way to plan for this unpredictable and highly uncertain impact on their staffing and budgets."For| Read My Position

Should NH require local law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement?
"This would depend on the type of cooperation required. Informational cooperation I think is fine. Having local officers perform enforcement is not acceptable. This is not the job of our local police."
