HB 1015 (2022)
Give parents 2 weeks notice of all course material to let them object
This bill did not become law.
Revises the law allowing parents to pull their children out of the classroom for any course material they object to. In particular, this bill requires the school district or classroom teacher to provide parents with two weeks notice of curriculum course material. At the time of this bill's submission, the law only requires two weeks notice for curriculum course material used for instruction of human sexuality or human sexual education. However, this bill also states that "A student shall not be granted an alternative to the entire content of a specific course or program in one of the core knowledge areas."
