Ban sex offenders from any employment or volunteer service providing direct services to a minor, and require background checks for volunteers

Summary:

Broadens the law restricting employment for persons convicted of felony assault against a child or any offense involving child sexual abuse. This bill bars offenders from any job or volunteer position providing "direct services to minors, or supervision or oversight of minors." This bill also requires any organization that provides direct services to minors, or whose employees provide supervision or oversight of minors, to conduct criminal background checks on all prospective employees and volunteers.
