HB 1101 (2018) regulating groundwater pollution caused by polluting emissions in the air.

House/Senate Bill: NH House

Description: Allows the Department of Environmental Services (DES) to make rules regarding air pollution and the deposit of such pollutants on soils and water. This bill also sets a timeline for DES to evaluate certain water contaminants, such as PFCs, and establish ambient groundwater and drinking water standards for those contaminants. The House amended the bill to also establish a toxicologist position and a human health risk assessor position in DES. The Senate then amended the bill to also require DES to develop a plan to establish surface water quality standards for PFC contamination.
