HB 1367 (2022)
Require schools to submit students' results for local civics test and U.S. citizenship test
This bill became law.
Revises the civics assessment requirements for high schoolers. First, this bill requires schools to provide accommodations for students with disabilities taking the U.S. citizenship test. This bill also requires schools to submit results of both the locally developed competency assessment of U.S. government and civics and the U.S. citizenship test to the Department of Education. At the time of this bill's submission, schools only need to submit results from one test. The House amended the bill to specifically require schools to submit results of the U.S. citizenship test.
