Summary:

Establishes closure and remediation requirements for abandoned or leaking on-premises-use fuel oil tanks and mandates disclosure of tank status during residential property sales.

The House rewrote the bill. The new bill requires the removal of residential heating oil underground if a change in the heating system removes it from use or if the owner does not intend to use it in the future, with limited exceptions.
