HB 1623 (2020)

Expand telemedicine opportunities and coverage

Allows healthcare providers to prescribe medication to treat substance use disorder by telemedicine, so long as the provider has a special registration under federal law. The bill specifically allows telemedicine to prescribe medication for substance use disorder in county jails and state prisons, as well. The Senate amended the bill to more broadly enable health care providers to use telemedicine, taking language from SB 647 and SB 555
