This bill did not become law.
Last updated 2025-01-29 12:56 pm
Summary:
Allows the court to award attorneys' fees to the prevailing party under the right-to-know law, so long as the judgment is not reconsidered or reversed by the supreme court. According to the Department of Justice, this bill would remove the requirement that the court find the government knew or should have known they were violating the right-to-know law before awarding attorney's fees. This would most likely result in the court more frequently awarding attorney's fees.
