HB 423 (2023)

Allow more, larger accessory dwelling units

Increases the amount of accessory dwelling units allowed on a residential property from one to two and changes other related laws. For example, this bill prohibits municipalities from capping the first accessory dwelling unit below 1,000 square feet (an increase from 750 square feet). The bill also requires municipalities to permit at least one detached accessory dwelling unit.
