HB 546 (2025)

Require additional campaign finance reporting from state legislators

This bill did not become law.

Last updated 2025-12-07 6:34 am
Summary:

Requires every legislator in the New Hampshire House and Senate to file a financial disclosure form with the legislative ethics committee within 30 days of receiving contributions over $1,000 from any industry or political action committee. This bill also requires candidates who raise more than $1,000 to file monthly statements with the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State in turn would prepare monthly summaries for the legislative ethics committee.

The House rewrote the bill. The new bill requires any legislator who receives a contribution or expenditure exceeding $1,000, to file a report with the Secretary of State within 48 hours. The amended bill also extends the campaign finance reporting requirements to require monthly reports through June following an election year.
