HB 578 (2019)

Study safety in long-term care facilities

Extends services for the developmentally disabled to individuals age 18 to 21 upon graduation from high school. The Senate amended the bill to instead establish a committee to study the safety of residents and employees in long-term care facilities (similar to SB 545). The amended bill also clarifies the cost controls for long-term care services and requires the Department of Health and Human Services to adopt rules for reimbursement of the costs of training nursing assistants (similar to SB 715).
