Generally increase penalties for Fish and Game violations
This bill became law.
Increases the restitution for the illegal taking or possession of certain animals, and makes such restitution mandatory. The bill also allows for an increased hunting license suspension for a third violation of a Fish and Game law or regulation. It establishes a class A misdemeanor penalty for a third Fish and Game offense that carries a license suspension penalty. This bill is at the request of the Fish and Game Commission.
The Senate amended the bill to add Atlantic menhaden to the list of species that nonresidents may not take unless their home state provides a reciprocal licensing privilege.
