HB 66 (2025)
Expand Right-to-Know law
This bill did not become law.
Makes several changes related to the state's Right-to-Know law. First, this bill allows any New Hampshire person or member of the media to use the Right-to-Know law. Second, this bill includes "preliminary drafts circulated to a quorum or a majority of the public body" under the Right-to-Know law. Third, this bill allows a person to request documents in either paper or electronic form.
Lastly, as introduced this bill removed any filing fee or surcharge for appealing a ruling from the Right-to-Know Ombudsman. The House changed this part of the bill to instead allow citizen-initiated appeals of the ombudsman's rulings to have a filing fee.
