The House amended the bill to also establish a solid waste facility site evaluation committee. The amended bill also sets a three-year moratorium on new landfill permits and a one-year moratorium landfill expansions.
Lastly, the amended bill incorporates various restrictions and due process requirements related to the confiscation of animals in cases of suspected abuse, similar to HB 616.
A conference committee of representatives and senators failed to agree on a final version of the bill.
