SB 399 (2022)

Limit ultrasound requirement before abortion

Summary:

Repeals the "Fetal Health Protection Act," which bans abortion after 24 weeks.

The Senate amended the bill to instead only limit the ultrasound requirement under the Fetal Health Protection Act. As amended, the bill states that an ultrasound is only required before an abortion if the provider knows or believes there is a substantial risk that the fetus has a gestational age of at least 24 weeks.
