SB 607 (2026)
Revise law on short-term health insurance
This bill is still active.
Prohibits short-term, limited duration health insurance policies from being issued for a period longer than federal laws or regulations permit.
The Senate rewrote the bill. The new bill allows insurers to offer short-term, limited duration health insurance policies of less than 12 months and not more than 36 months. This bill then requires insurers to provide written notice to consumers that such plans are not required to comply with the ACA, may exclude preexisting conditions, and may include terms that differ from comprehensive health plans.
