SB 608 (2026)
Expand eligibility for some support programs, such as child care scholarships, for family members providing care
This bill is still active.
Directs the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to seek approval from the federal government to cover family caregiver support services as an allowable service under the Acquired Brain Disorder (ABD) and the Choices for Independence (CFI) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waiver programs. The bill also eliminates the child care scholarship cost share for children in kinship care. Lastly, the bill waives the work requirement for an individual applying to the child care scholarship program who has reached retirement age.
