Limits permitting requirements for solar arrays. For example, this bill prohibits the Department of Environmental Services (DES) from imposing additional requirements on solar arrays that do not apply to other types of development.
The Senate rewrote the bill, establishing a simple permit by notification for alteration of terrain that is limited to small solar panel installations.
The House amended the bill to clarify that permit by notification is not an option in shoreland areas.
