Authorize online election information portal
This bill did not become law.
Authorizes the Secretary of State to develop an online election information portal for the public. This portal would allow residents to complete a new voter application, request an absentee ballot, and request other changes to the statewide centralized voter registration database, such as party affiliation.
The House amended the bill to also allows cities and towns to access grant money from the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) to purchase election equipment.
A conference committee of representatives and senators did not agree on a final version of the bill.
