Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?

"While the program can be beneficial for the individuals within it and those who couldn't ordinarily afford private school, it takes away tens of millions of dollars from the public education system that most of the other children rely on."

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?

"All abortion restrictions, including those that claim to allow for medical exceptions, are unnecessary barriers to care when the decision should remain between patients and their doctors, not politicians. We have seen in Texas that even in cases like Kate Cox where the health of the mother and life of the fetus was at risk, politicians have stepped in to block care. Pregnant women have been bleeding out in parking lots with sepsis because they weren't close enough to death to be considered to have a medical exception. Cases where abortion is needed after 24 weeks are almost never voluntary and most always due to a tragic situation that politicians have no place getting in the middle of."

Should NH add an income tax on earned income?

"I don't believe anyone who is already struggling to afford necessities should be taxed any more than they are currently, but I do believe that the wealthy should pay their fair share for the benefit of all Granite Staters. I would support some form of wealth tax depending on the structure to pay for improved public services such as education and childcare."

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?

"A primary cause of NH's affordable housing crisis is due to zoning barriers blocking developments. We cannot solve this problem without expanding housing capacity through reduced zoning barriers and increased funding."

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?

"Local property taxes can vary wildly based on the municipality which can create a large gap in funding between schools across the state. We are currently only funding about half as much money as is constitutionally required per student, so while local property taxes will always play some role, increased and more equitable funding across the board is essential to improve our public education system."

Should NH pass stricter gun control laws?

"Common-sense gun reforms like requiring training, background checks, waiting periods, or red-flag laws are obvious solutions that don't infringe on the rights of responsible gun-owners and could prevent future tragedies."
