Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"As a home school mom, I understand a public school cannot fit the needs of every child at all times; but instead of taking property tax dollars from one family and giving it to their wealthier neighbor, we should be fixing the issue at the public school. Most of the people receiving EFAs were never in public school, so they do not actually know if the public school is a good fit. It is ludicrous to think that in our community, an EFA should pay for the $42,000/year private school."

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?
"The way the questions are written is vague-- as are most abortion laws. We need to make sure we are doing everything to protect a mother or baby with a medical emergency. We cannot have women dying and going into sepsis because our laws are so overreaching we have taken away abortion healthcare. The unintended consequences of legislators writing medical legislation is exponential. We should be focused on providing easy access to birth control, and let women focus on their medical care."

"Many family businesses run a profit smaller than the pay of employees working for large corporations. If we don't want to ask those employees pulling in 6+ figures of income to pay, then why do we ask our small family businesses to pay? We cannot lump small businesses and large corporations under the same category."

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?
"Local control is best, unless a city or town needs assistance with a housing crisis. If you have a tent city--you need housing, and zoning barriers should be assessed properly and lifted where needed. If a town or city cannot handle their humanitarian housing crisis, then state aid/direction is imperative. State zoning should not control short term rentals as that is a local issue and local municipalities should have the right to zone for their specific community."

"Our current system is not equitable. In Governor Wentworth Regional School District, Effingham will be paying $17.38/1,000 and Tuftonboro only $4.32/1,000 for their school Tax Rate in 2024-2025. All our public school children in NH deserve an equally funded education no matter their zip code."

"We currently have a cannabis crisis. Our surrounding states have legalized cannabis for recreation. This has forced all the illegal drug trade into NH, and onto our children. Control the drug and you better control the flow of what's illegally on our streets. With proper programs in place, we can educate our children as to the dangers. We also need to make sure all the loopholes surrounding states have for sales to under 21 are closed. Currently Maine has licensed medical professionals who will give an 18 year old a medical marijuana card after a 20 second phone call if the teen says they have anxiety. This cannot happen here and should be specifically written into our laws. We also need to treat cannabis the way we treat liquor, legalization doesn't mean you can smoke everywhere and anywhere at all times."

Should NH pass stricter gun control laws?
"[Art.] 3. [Society, its Organization and Purposes.] When men enter into a state of society, they surrender up some of their natural rights to that society, in order to ensure the protection of others; and, without such an equivalent, the surrender is void. June 2, 1784 Gun violence is a national tragedy in our country. Our laws should reflect our state and not be generated from outside. Gun control for NYC is not what is needed for rural NH. NH has a high gun death suicide rate. We need sensible laws that help those struggling with depression and addiction that could lead to them harming themselves or others. It is time to add mental health records to our background checks."
