With this tax and the rooms and meals tax being lowered and the interests and dividends tax being removed, New Hampshire has lost a lot of state revenue. "My priority to decrease our reliance on fossil fuels is to promote renewables like solar and wind infrastructure. We can deliver good-paying jobs and cheap energy that way. I’m concerned that nuclear power is not tested enough to be reliable, and I’m concerned about responsibly disposing of nuclear waste."

"It was a 100-year-old tax that brought significant tax revenue to the state. Without it, to make sure the state still has revenue, there has been little choice but to raise property taxes for New Hampshirites. Reintroducing this tax would lighten that burden."

"As is, town residents vote on the makeup of their school board and budget committee. We should rely on the judgment of our local elected leaders, because tax caps often hinder the ability of those bodies to respond to emergencies."

"93% of gun deaths in New Hampshire are suicides. That’s why I specifically support Red Flag laws and 48-hour wait periods. They keep guns out of the hands of folks suffering from mental health complications but keep them available for law-abiding citizens."
