School Standards and Testing

Both state and federal law require New Hampshire public schools to administer standardized, statewide assessment tests. Those tests are based on academic standards set by the state Board of Education. Every year New Hampshire legislators consider bills that would tweak policies related to school standards and testing. Recent legislation has sought to require or prohibit the teaching of certain subjects, including controversial concepts, civics, cursive writing, and more.
