Summary:

Makes sexual assault offenses involving penetration or contact against a minor under 16 years of age a capital offense punishable by death.

The House rewrote the bill. The new bill increases the penalties for sexual assault when the perpetrator has authority over the person in a correctional institution, the secure psychiatric unit, or a juvenile detention facility, or in their role as an adult or juvenile probation or parole officer.
