Summary:

Changes the name of the Statewide Education Property Tax (SWEPT) to the Uniform Statewide Education Property Tax (USWEPT), and makes other changes to how the tax is collected and disbursed. All revenue would go to the state to redistribute to municipalities. The bill then expands property tax rebates for low and moderate income homeowners. Lastly the bill establishes a committee to study Low and Moderate Income Homeowners Property Tax Relief.
