HB 446 (2025)
Require schools to email copies of non-academic surveys to parents, add opt-in for YRBS
This bill did not become law.
Requires school districts to email parents copies of non-academic surveys in public schools. This is an addition to the state law that already requires schools to post the surveys online.
The House amended the bill to also require parental consent to administer the annual Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). There is an exception in state law that allowed that survey to be administered without parents opting in (although parents could opt out).
