Summary:
Requires the Department of Environmental Services to revise rules for new landfills to ensure adequate distance from water wells, perennial rivers, lakes, and coastal waters.
The House added the substance of this bill to SB 180.
The Senate rewrote the bill. The new bill creates the solid waste facility site evaluation committee in order to evaluate applications for solid waste facility siting.
