SB 13 (2025)

Ban driver's licenses issued to unlawful immigrants in other states

This bill did not become law.

Last updated 2025-12-04 11:32 pm
Summary:

Prohibits undocumented/illegal immigrants that were issued a license in another state from driving in New Hampshire, with a misdemeanor penalty. This bill then requires the Division of Motor Vehicles to keep an updated list on their website of out of state class licenses that are invalid in this state.

The Senate amended the bill to make this a violation, similar to a speeding ticket, rather than a misdemeanor. The Senate also added the text of this bill to HB 506.

The House amended this bill to add some of the text of HB 452. That bill prohibits the DMV from issuing licenses to asylees until they have been granted permanent resident status, regardless of prior work employment authorization.
