Revise Maternal Mortality Review Panel

Summary:

Renames the Maternal Mortality Review Panel as the Maternal Mortality Review Committee and revises its membership. This bill then provides for the committee to be administered by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and facilitated by the New Hampshire perinatal quality collaborative (NHPQC) affiliated with Dartmouth Health. Lastly, the bill revises the definition of "pregnancy-related death" by removing the exclusion of accidental or incidental causes. The bill is a request of DHHS.

The Senate added the substance of this bill to HB 243.

The House rewrote the bill. According to the House Executive Departments and Administration Committee, "As amended, this bill updates the name of the Northern New England Perinatal Quality Improvement Network (NNEQUIN) to the New Hampshire Perinatal Quality Collaborative (NHPQC) affiliated with Dartmouth Health, requires that each meeting summarizes panel recommendations to be distributed to members’ respective institutions and adds close contacts to those who are contacted regarding the deceased woman should the family refuse an interview."
