SB 569 (2018) relative to animal cruelty.

House/Senate Bill: NH Senate

Description: Increases regulation of animal breeders, and appropriates $200,000 to the state veterinarian to enforce the new regulations. This bill also allows the courts to order a person charged with animal cruelty to post a bond to cover the costs of caring for a confiscated animal.  The House amended the bill to remove the $200,000 and instead study many of these issues, including the cost of care for animals during an animal cruelty trial.  The House and Senate failed to agree on a final version of the bill.
