SB 72 (2025)
Establish a parental bill of rights in education
This bill did not become law.
Establishes a parental bill of rights in education. For example, the bill includes "The right to access and review all medical records of a child maintained by a school or school personnel" and "The right to inspect any instructional material used as part of the educational curriculum."
Parents could sue schools under the law.
The House amended the bill. The amendment, among other things, requires schools to respond to parents regarding "any and all matters related to their minor child" within 10 days of a request.
