Heath Howard
Running for: US House NH District 1
Heath Howard, age 25, is a two‑term Democratic state representative from Strafford who entered the race emphasizing universal health care, free college tuition, affordable housing, and a living wage. A teenager when he suffered a debilitating back injury, Howard says the disabled community “needs younger voices in Washington, D.C.” who understand firsthand how policy affects people's lives.

"No one should be forced into bankruptcy simply because they became ill or were injured. Healthcare should be a basic right. Medicare-for-All would safeguard public health while lowering expenses for the average American. Every other developed nation has already adopted some form of universal healthcare, and it's time we do the same. Expanding access to care will also require more healthcare professionals, which we can support by increasing the number of residency positions while investing in medical training."

That means lifting the payroll tax cap so that the wealthy pay their fair share, guaranteeing this essential program remains strong for generations to come."
