HB 1265 (2024)
Remove requirement for public academies to file financial reports, revise school funding in districts that pay tuition for students to go elsewhere, Require report on costs and salaries before school budget adoption
This bill became law.
Removes the requirement that public academies file financial reports with the Department of Education. This bill also revises how the state contribution of per-pupil funding is calculated for school districts that provide education by paying tuition to other institutions.
The Senate amended the bill to also add the text of SB 219. That bill requires a report to voters on the average cost per pupil, average teacher salary, and administrator salaries before any meeting at which a school district adopts a budget.
