Summary:
Eliminates the proration of special education funding when the demand for funding exceeds what is available. The state would be required to cover 85% of a school district’s "catastrophic aid" special education costs.
The House amended the bill to require the state to cover just 80% of catastrophic aid.
The House also added the text of this bill to SB 292.
