Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?
"I think the state's current law works for the state. I am personally pro-life and would like to see the end of all abortion, but I understand that everyone does not share my view. Initially I would like to move the ban to 20 weeks to provide consistency with the state's fetal homicide law. After that my position is to educate folks on the life position and be prepared to legislate when they are ready to move on to the next step. As a legislator my motto has always been to propose, rather than impose. Education should always preceed legislation."Undecided| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire government do more to address climate change?
"New Hampshire has always exceeded its RGGI targets. Placing a larger economic burden on the state absent additional modelling data is not something I would support. I would support adding 'new, modular' nuclear to the renewable portfolio standard to create a slot to encourage investment in that area."

Do you support giving voters who register without ID on Election Day a ballot that only counts if they return identifying documents to the state before a deadline?
"I value the integrity of elections and voted for this. However, I will be watching the logistics of how it plays out to see how well it is working."

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?
"Favored prior initiatives such as the land use docket in the superior court and the housing appeals board to provide more certainty, clarity, and consistency in how zoning decisions are applied."Against| Read My Position

Do you support legislation to expand the net energy metering system capacity cap from 1 MW to 5 MW for all residential and commercial customers in New Hampshire?
"If the net metering payments were adjusted to rebate at the generation rate I might support it. However, as long as the payments are at the default rate I feel that the disadvantaged communities who can least afford it end up subsidizing those that have the means to proceed with the installation. Moving net metering to pay compensation for generation is fair and I will support no further expansion as long as payment is at the default rate."Undecided| Read My Position

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?
"If the state were ever to take on an additional share in funding education, it would be necessary for the local communities to cede some control back to the state. The state cannot be a blank cheque where the towns are free to spend without accountability."For| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire add legal protections for residents of other states who travel here for health care related to abortion or gender transition?
"No abortion data is gathered in the state of New Hampshire, making it impossible for anyone to pursue legal action against those who travel here. I believe no changes to current law are necessary."

Should NH require local law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement?
When asked this question on the 2024 Citizens Count survey, Rep. McLean marked "Undecided" and wrote, "I am against NH becoming a sanctuary state, but local/federal interaction should be taken up on a case by case basis as it is in other areas." In 2025 McLean voted to prohibit "sanctuary policies" and require local law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement (HB 511 and SB 62).
